ParkAdmin releases Dispatch Module

(Carleton Place) - ParkAdmin, the complete parking and security management solution, created by Tomahawk Technologies Inc., has released its Dispatch Module as an add-on to the existing Incidents Module.

ParkAdmin is a web-enabled solution for administrators of parking and security management. It was created in 2001 specifically for a local university and is now installed in campuses across North America. The largest ParkAdmin installation is an institution with more than 25,000 students, sells more than 8,000 semester, annual and monthly permits and writes almost 30,000 citations annually. The smallest institution using ParkAdmin sells 1,000 semestered permits and is currently enjoying the benefits of Application Service Provider (ASP) model of use.

According to Tomahawk’s VP of Business Operations, Michael Freeman, the newly launched Dispatch Module “is an upgrade that seamlessly plugs into the existing Incidents Module” available as part of ParkAdmin.

“We went on-line with this module in January,” he states, adding that Carleton University was the first school in the fold to take advantage of this new module.

Freeman explains that previously, many schools using the Incidents Module tracked calls using pen and paper or maybe an Excel document. This process is clumsy and time consuming with respect to recording and cross linking dispatch records with incidents. The new Dispatch module integrates with the incident module where by all dispatch records are stored in the system and are easily linked to their respective incidents.

The minute the phone rings at a school’s security dispatch, a report is automatically created. Freeman says if the situation escalates into an incident, security officers are assigned to the incident.

“Then when the officers log into the system, the incidents are already assigned and waiting for them to complete the report. Another advantage is that the entire history of the call (dispatch) and the incident itself is available in one report,” Freeman explains. “Anybody who has a security force could take advantage of these two modules.”

The advantages of using the new module are not being lost on other schools. Two weeks after the Carleton launch, Lakehead University contacted Tomahawk to get the system.

With ongoing additions such as the Disptach Module, Notices Module, Online Appeals, Wireless Ticketing and Incident Reporting, ParkAdmin continues to lead the field in security and parking management solutions.
