Ottawa Senators employ Tomahawk technology inside ScotiaBank Place

(Carleton Place) - Tomahawk Technologies Inc.’s long-standing relationship with the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club is continuing with the start of the new National Hockey League season this fall.

"They purchased the InfoCaster software," explains Tomahawk VP of Business Operations Michael Freeman. "We set it all up for them - the hardware and the software programming."

On every television screen inside the ScotiaBank Place, whether on the concourse or in private boxes, there is a television feed that carries the Senators game. Beside the space on the television that carries the game, the hockey club is selling advertising space, and there is a display of the current weather. As well, Tomahawk is building a dynamic scoreboard to see results of other games.

"The information on scoreboard comes from Sports Ticker. We built an XML data parser that parses the Sports Ticker data feed for the Senators and puts it all into a database," Freeman adds.

"The InfoCaster system is able to tie into the SportsTicker data through SteelArrow scripts that make this system a complete package." says Robin Mulloy, President Tomahawk Technologies Inc.

"We are always happy to be involved with the Senators, and enjoy being a part of the return of NHL hockey to Ottawa, even if it is just on the sideline to assist their marketing department", Mulloy adds.

"InfoCaster is an advertising mechanism for them (Senators). They can sell the ad space," Freeman adds. "We are constantly adding on to it for them. They are constantly getting new ideas."

Tomahawk has been working with the Ottawa Senators for the past six years and the Info Caster system was up and running for the start of the new hockey season.
