| For immediate release June 30, 2005 Tomahawk shows big at IACLEA conference in Kansas City, Missouri (Carleton Place) – Tomahawk Technologies Inc. made some major strides in getting information about its advanced wed solutions out by once again taking part in an industry conference. Tomahawk took part in the 47th annual IACLEA (International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators) Conference held June 25-29 in Kansas City, Missouri. IACLEA advances public safety for educational institutions by providing educational resources, advocacy, and professional development services. IACLEA is the leading voice for the campus public safety community and the conference attracts a variety of leaders in the industry. Tomahawk is a privately held and profitable high-tech firm that creates advanced web solutions for companies across North America and is active in local events, charities and organizations. ParkAdmin, a web-enabled solution for administrators of parking and security management, was created in 2001 specifically for a local university and is now installed in campuses across North America. The IACLEA Conference featured workshops, general sessions on cutting-edge issues and visitor exhibitor booths to learn about products and services for the campus law enforcement community. Tomahawk was a vendor on the trade show floor as this marked the company’s second appearance at an IACLEA conference, having taken part in the 2004 conference held in Ottawa. “It’s an opportunity for campus law enforcement officers to go and shop for products all in one spot,” said Joan Batucan, who heads up Business Development for ParkAdmin, of the conference and exhibits. “This year they had almost 60 vendors which was a 50 per cent improvement over last year, attendance was up another 30 per cent this year as well. It was a big conference.” According to Tomahawk’s VP of Business Operations, Michael Freeman, attending conferences like this is “very important” in order for the company to get the products name out there. “Of the people we introduced the product too (at IACLEA conference), 70 per cent of the people we spoke to hadn’t heard of us,” stated Freeman. Batucan added that contact was also made with “20 to 30 interested schools” who wanted to know more ParkAdmin and the benefits this complete parking and security management system provides. “There are a lot of people out there who really like our user interface in that they don’t have to do their own manual data entry. As well, they were very impressed with our rugged handheld and the ability to have handhelds with any project PC-based device,” added Batucan. As part of its conference display, Tomahawk held two booth draws for $75 gift certificates to Circuit City. Winners were: 1. Saturday Tomahawk Technologies booth draw - Robert Gaekle, Chief of Police, Purdue University North Central, Westville, Indiana. 2. Sunday Tomahawk Technologies booth draw - Kimberly Wible, Chief of Police, San Francisco State University, San Francisco, California. “Chief Gaekle was delighted to win the gift certificate and was positive that if he could not find something to buy for himself that someone else in his family could,” noted Butacan. “Chief Wible was delighted to win the gift certificate and had first heard about Tomahawk Technologies at this conference.” Tomahawk also won the IACLEA vendor draw for free IACLEA advertisement in the bi-monthly organizational magazine. “So look for us there (in the magazine) soon,” noted Freeman. Along with its involvement in the 47th annual IACLE conference, Tomahawk was a sponsor of an IACLEA regional conference earlier in the year. “We were unable to attend but we were able to contribute,” said Batucan. “I would like to think we are very active in this organization (IACLEA).” -30- For more information on ParkAdmin contact: Joan Batucan Business Development, ParkAdmin Tomahawk Technologies 1-888-606-5739, Ext. 223 from North America 1-613-257-4141, Ext. x223 from outside of North America Online at http://www.parkadmin.com |
