ParkAdmin to release new Temp Permits Module this October

(Carleton Place) - ParkAdmin, the complete parking and security management solution, created by Tomahawk Technologies Inc., will be releasing a new feature this October with the launch of its new Temp Permit Module.

The lead customer for this application is Carleton University, a local university located in the City of Ottawa, although there are three other clients who have confirmed they want to use the application. With this new feature, administrators will be able to track temporary parking permits.

“To acquire a temporary permit the user is first registered on the system. Their temporary permit is reserved and paid for through the system. This users vehicle and permit information is tracked.” explained Michael Freeman, VP of Business Operations for Tomahawk Technologies. “It eliminates the paper trail that Carleton and many other schools currently have to keep track of.

Freeman added. “The permits can be printed right from the system. All the information pertaining to the permit like valid dates, vehicle information, and a bar code are printed on the permit. The module also allows administrators to enter physical permit numbers.

Initially, ParkAdmin began in 2001 as a parking and locker management solution. It has developed into a complete parking and management solution including everything from system administration, violations, appeals, incident reporting, and more.

“The other important aspect with this feature is that it puts us in a space that we weren’t in before with the temporary permits. Before we dealt with long-term permits, so now we also do daily and shorter term permits on the system and track that and are able to write violations against them,” added Joan Batucan, who heads up Business Development for Park Admin. “It puts us on the map to compete with other daily temp permit products which may not be integrated and which may be more labor intensive.”

She added that the new Temp Permits Module will use all the same common interfaces, there’s an admin side that can track it on and the user can look at it.
