New staff join Tomahawk Technologies

(Carleton Place) – As Tomahawk Technologies Inc. continues to grow as a company, so too does the need for qualified staff members to meet the demands of the fast-paced IT industry.

Tomahawk is a privately held and profitable high-tech firm that develops enterprise web solutions for companies across North America and is active in local events, charities and organizations. ParkAdmin, a web-enabled parking and security management system, was created in 2001 specifically for a local university and is now installed in campuses across North America.

The requirement for well-educated and well-trained employees is a testament to Tomahawk’s growth and success and over the past year, three employees were added to the roster.

The latest full time hire was Carleton Place resident Ha Lee, who started working at Tomhawk at the beginning of July 2005. She is a web developer with a Computer Technology-Computer Science diploma from Algonquin College Ottawa. Lee has more than five years experience in the IT industry.

“We required an experienced web developer with a strong database design and integration background to help fill the demand for the high-end enterprise web solutions we develop,” explains Tomahawk VP of Business Operations Michael Freeman. Also in July 2005, Tomahawk hired part-time summer staffer Brandt Prozeniuk. He is a student at Carleton Place High School who is interested in computers and network administration.

“Brandt was hired to help with the network administration. He is also assisting the development team.” Freeman notes. In July 2004, Jason Yin joined the Tomahawk staff. He holds B.Sc. in Computer Science (Honors) from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. Yin has more than seven years experience in the high tech field and has worked for such companies as Nortel Networks and Corel in the past.

“With the growing success of ParkAdmin, Jason was hired as a developer to help the development team with the expanding enhancements to the product,” Freeman states. “Jason is now the lead developer for ParkAdmin.”

There are currently 11 employees at Tomahawk, including company CEO and President Robin Mulloy.
